Coleman: ‘We will never know who won’
Source: The Minnesota Independent

“We will never know who won,” Norm Coleman said Wednesday. That’s after seven Minnesota judges — three on Monday and four in January — concluded that Al Franken won Minnesota’s 2008 election for U.S. Senate.

...

Coleman made his “we will never know” statement to the St. Paul Pioneer Press editorial board, writes reporter Rachel Stassen-Berger (in an article that runs separately from the newspaper’s editorial, which also appears this morning).

Coleman also told the PiPress board that the question for his legal team is not whether to file a petition for an appeal to the state Supreme Court. Rather, he said, it’s “the scope of the appeal. Do we file on every point or do we appeal on some points?”

The newspaper got only one comment so far, but it's a good one:

"Norm, I’m surprised I have to explain this to you, you being a politician and all, but:
The one who gets the most votes is the person who won!"

11. These right wingers
The power of their ability to delude themselves is just next to amazing.

Um...Norm. They counted, and recounted the votes, and for every one they recounted, Franken's lead increased. That's tell most people that someone in the process was subverting "Franken's" chances by not counting legal votes for him, not that "we'll never know."

What distresses me is that no one on the media is talking about the corruption involved in the first place. Who was responsible for all the miscounting?

6. We know. First it was Jesse Ventura, then it was Al Franken
Norm needs professional help to get to the point he can accept life's little disappointments. He lost to a wrestler and to a clown. Both of those winners are smarter and better grounded in reality than Norm.

Take our word for it Norm, you lost.
If you don't believe me then get a 5th grader to reread the judges ruling of your last lawsuit. Make him or her go slow and explain the big words to you so you understand.

12. But if Franken just gave up on 11/5 before the recount - the Norm wouldn't be talking like this
He would talk about how accurate the vote was and how he was the clear winner.

He couldn't bully Franken to quit before the system worked it's job. Now the system has more than worked the job and Coleman is going to find his way to cheat the system

Just can't seem to come to grips with the fact that the majority of people actually voted against him.
No wonder they count on low voter turnout.

19. When he loses in the MN Supreme Ct, is there a federal district court that he
will have to go through before going to the US Supreme Ct? SCOTUS is his ticket to the seat, an easy 5-4 or 6-3.

24. He is lucky they didn't decide to count the "entire universe"
of rejected absentee ballots, as his lawyer suggested, or he'd be losing by a lot more.

At this point, they seem to want to delay Al's entry into the Senate by as much as possible, and want to make sure he's bullied like a grade school kid once he is seated. The right-wing nuts are still saying he cheated.

Clearly the GOP has lost their collective mind, and is on the way out as a major political party. I don't see them ever recovering from this insanity as long as godfather Limbaugh and Fox Nutwork are around.
