Chavez Denounces Bush as Foes Fight Troops (Calls Bush an "asshole"!)
CARACAS, Venezuela (Reuters) - Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez called President Bush an "---hole" on Sunday and told him not to meddle as his opponents battled troops ahead of a ruling on a recall vote against him.

Chavez, who often says the U.S. is backing opposition efforts to topple his government, accused Bush of listening to "imperialist" aides whom he said advised the U.S. leader to support a brief 2002 coup against him.

"He was an ---hole to believe them," Chavez roared at a rally of supporters in Caracas.

The Venezuelan leader's comments came as fresh violence broke out on the streets of the capital where National Guard troops clashed with opposition protesters pressing for a referendum to end his five-year rule.

Your an Asshole!!

"I have to say to those here who would try to apply the Haiti formula, that Venezuela is not Haiti and that Chavez is not Aristide," he said.

The State Department routinely dismisses the president's accusations Washington supports his opponents. (Fucking Neo-Con Terrorists)

14. Hugo Chavez rocks !!!!
Edited on Sun Feb-29-04 09:43 PM by Rochambeau
Yes Hugo Chavez is a survivor. I don't know how it is in USA but what kills me is that he is almost "unknown" here in France. If tomorrow a coup or an "Aristide" scenario happens in Caracas it will not make more than a few lines in newpapers, something like "USA got rid of a populist in Venezuela today" ! :grr:
Media and "wise" people in France, even from the left, are a bit afraid of him. He's a military, he has the support of the poor (so he MUST be an ugly populist or something like that :eyes: ). The fact is that they don't "understand" him, it's the typical Napoleon/De Gaulle syndrom of the french Left, the fear of "le messie botté", "Messiah with boots").
For exemple many people said when he came to power "oh a new Castro", but there are no opinion prisonners in Venezuela! People here can't admit that he is just what he says he is, a legaly elected leader, very charismatic, who wants to fight poverty, who wants to fight for the people even if it's against Big Money lobbies and who fights to keep his country independent and sovereign ! We must support him !
Go Hugo !

18. Welcome, Rochambeau
Chavez is mostly unknown in the US too. The more I learn about Hugo Chavez, the more I respect him. He is worthy of support, but our government will do everything possible to sabotage Mr.Chavez.

Hugo Chavez was elected. Our "president" was not.

15. Oh, my!
The truth resonates throughout the world via Reuters. "Bu$h is an a**hole!"

Gee, I wonder what George I and Barbara think about this revelation?

I just love it when the 'first family' has to listen to the truth, for a change!

16. How dare the election commission check those signatures...
Just because they are all in the same handwritng-and it's their job! The whole matter should be turned over to the Venzuelan Supreme Court for instant resolution...and if they don't have one we will lend them ours-it has experience in these matters.

And as for calling our great presidente' a bendaho...well can't argue with that!
