Officials: U.S. to demand access to Iran's nuke facility
Source: CNN

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- A recently revealed nuclear facility in Iran will be the centerpiece of talks that began in Switzerland Thursday among representatives of the five permanent members of the U.N. Security Council, Germany and Iran's nuclear chief.

"These will not be easy talks," warned one senior U.S. administration official.

The first task in Geneva will be to test whether Iran is ready to engage on the nuclear issue. The question will be: "What steps are they willing to take to build confidence with the international community," said one official.

According to three senior U.S. administration officials, the United States wants IAEA nuclear monitors to have unfettered access to the facility.

2. I'm sure Iran will respond by saying "Sure, come on over anytime".
I don't know what will work with Iran, but they don't want the West to see exactly what they're doing.

4. The United States
tells the IAEA which facilities it can and cannot inspect. Any facility that is deemed "significant to national security" is off limits. All governments have secrets.

A simple examination of history shows that the U.S. is far more likely than Iran to attack other countries.

5. EU official: Iran to invite nuclear inspectors 'soon'
GENEVA, Switzerland (CNN) -- Iran says it plans to cooperate "fully" with the U.N. nuclear agency and will invite representatives of the body to visit its newly revealed uranium enrichment facility "soon," said Javier Solana, the European Union foreign policy chief.

Solana also confirmed that world powers and Iran will hold another round of talks before the end of the month. He spoke at a news conference Thursday after the Geneva talks.

The meeting occurred on the heels of the recent revelation that Iran was building a second uranium enrichment facility near the city of Qom, a dramatic development that jacked up tension between Iran and international powers.

Iran participated in the talks along with the EU, Germany and the five permanent members of the U.N. Security Council: the United States, Britain, France, Russia and China.

I would not wish to see them harmed, and I don't believe the Iranians would do so. I'm just skeptical about their claim to be hikers.
