WASHINGTON - Former Vice President Dick Cheney was at George Washington University Hospital Monday in Washington, D.C. after experiencing chest pains.

A family member told NBC News he was resting comfortably while doctors evaluated his condition.

Two doctors at George Washington UniversityHospital said Cheney was stable but may have additional treatment Tuesday. "We don't know what the plan is," one physician told NBC News.

Cheney apparently had an angiogram to allow doctors to look in his coronary arteries with the results indicating the possibility of additional treatment. No further information was immediately available, including when he was admitted to the hospital.

I had strep throat last month and finally broke down and went to the Doctor. He told me that I had a heart murmur. I pretended like I knew about it and had had it along time when in reality this is news to me. I make $400.00 a month and my husband is in a nursing home now, and unable to work. I can't afford tests and specialists. It scares me but I have no options. (No, I can't get medicaid because I have to be permanently disabled and on disability to get it. I have already tried.) It makes me so angry when I hear about someone like this going to get healthcare without a second thought to cost. I guess the rest of us aren't valuable or important enough to qualify for healthcare.

this morning on the way to work I noted that some tv station's mobile unit was parked in the circle in front. I knew that Cheney had been hospitalized for chest pain and figured it was GWUH since that is where his doctors are. The mobile unit confirmed it. But what I got a small bit of joy from was that a just over a year ago, the place would have been crawling with units and talking heads covering this "news". On a totally different topic, I'd also like to note that Joe Biden's motorcades to the WH or Old Exec. Office Building are smaller than Cheney's were and there is less, shall we say, firepower in evidence. Nice to see.
