WASHINGTON — Two American soldiers were killed and two others were wounded in fighting today in central Afghanistan, the U.S. military said.

At least five insurgents were killed in the battle, officials said.

In a brief statement, U.S. Central Command said the American soldiers were accompanied by troops of the Afghan National Army when they were attacked by "anti-coalition militia" in a village near Tarin Kowt.

The Americans were not identified by name or military unit.

It is easy to forget, for some of us, that there are still many troops in Afghanistan left to deal with Bush's unfinished mess there.

2. Our local news reported that Mn soldiers were emailing their families
to say they were still alive.

"Insurgents" is such an overused word - - - why not just call them "bad guys?" It would fit with b*sh's us/them mentality.

Luckily my brother came home, but so many slaughtered and it's happening all over again. Young people dying for rotten older peoples' dirty motives.
