BREAKING: Butler County, Ohio BOE Website Declared 'Under Attack:
Edited on Tue May-04-10 10:42 PM by Corey_Baker08
Source: Middletown Journal, WHIO TV

HAMILTON — The Butler County Board of Elections website is under attack from an outside source, according to Board of Elections Director Betty McGary.
Although the "attack" is delaying communication of results on the board of election's website, McGary said it is not having an impact on actual ballot counting.
“We do not think that anyone has hacked into our site, but we have crashed three servers. And in examining those servers, there are two unidentified sites that are deliberately diverting traffic.”
McGary added: “Our servers are under attack, we feel."
The board of elections' information technology department is still working on the issue, she said.
“Our IT is saying this is being done deliberately,” McGary said. “This is definitely something of a concern for us, but the votes are safe.”

This Is Breaking News From my Local News Station WHIO TV out of Dayton,Ohio with this article coming from the Middletown Journal.

As you may know there were several important elections in Ohio here tonight. From the primary races between two very well respected Democratic Candidates vying for a shot at the US Senate Seat in November in which SOS Brunner lost by less than 9% of the vote, to the primary battle for the Democratic and Republican Nominations for Governor and Secretary of State. Just think if this were November or November 2012 and this were happening, BOE Director Claims the attack is without deliberate, which means if its deliberate on election day its obviously for an intentional purpose!

6. Butler Co. is John Boehner's district.
Maybe John Boehner lost his primary race and they are disrupting things so they can fix the election.

Maybe it wasn't perfect (okay, it definitely wasn't perfect) but it would seem to be better than this online stuff. Maybe I'm just a traditionalist or something in this department

13. I put my paper ballot in the box today.
Amazing what you can get when you ask.

'Course it'll be read by an optical scanner.

18. Same in Boston. In 2004, they dumped the machines. We filled out paper ballots with a pencil.
I don't recall feeding my ballot into a machine then (Kerry-Bush election), but maybe I did. All elections after that, I did The most recent elections, they were directing us to feed the ballot into a machine, but I said I wanted to do mine in pencil. I don't get what we accomplished.

16. We still vote on paper in Canada
And all of our election results are available for the 11:00 news the same day.

And our elections NEVER end in lawsuits. We have orderly recounts based on rigid rules in case of close results. The same standard for the WHOLE country.

It's really kind of boring.

12. K&R
Boehner's district, and a good Democrat is hoping to run against Boehner. This is a county to watch. The district is conservative, but Miami University is located in Oxford in this district. So, there are lots of potential liberal voters there too.

This is very interesting. Thanks for posting.
