Sharron Angle needs time to prepare for media's questions, says senior Republican (Cornyn)
Source: Washington Post

The top Senate Republican campaign strategist promised Tuesday that reporters would have "complete access" to Sharron Angle, the GOP nominee in Nevada, "in a few weeks," but not now.

Sen. John Cornyn (R-Tex.), chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, explained Angle's silence since she won last week's primary in the Silver State by saying she needed to get "prepared" for her opponent in November, Senate Majority Leader Harry M. Reid (D).

Angle has granted interviews only to conservative media outlets, while the Reid campaign has tried to define her as an out-of-the-mainstream conservative who supports abolishing popular federal programs such as Social Security.

...

And Cornyn acknowledged that Angle is not yet prepared for what he considers to be a coming onslaught of attention. "I don't think anybody would be prepared for a race. where 20 or 30 million dollars is going to be spent in negative advertising," he said. "It's going to take a few weeks, I would think, but, you know, it's really up to her."

3. So she does not know what she stands for??
Has to be taught what to say.....

What happened to the days when a politician had to speak for themselves without an army in front of them telling them what to say and an army behind them cleaning up the mess??

4. To be expected
These days we don't get people running for office we get 'packaged products'. I'm sure they are taking her aside and explaining to her that it doesn't matter what you say to get elected because once your elected you will be expected to toe the party line. They are probably also telling her which of her ideas she should keep to herself. Note I didn't say they would tell her the ideas are bad or wrong just that she shouldn't let the general public hear them until after the election.

5. This sounds familiar
Didn't we get something like this, in relation to Palin, when she was nominated as a running mate?

12. This is so Sarah Palin 2008
There at least there was an excuse that the VP nominee does ( and should) support or at least know and understand where the Presidential nominee stands. In addition, the VP nominee has usually not spent about a year running.

Here, there is no such excuse. She is what she is and hiding for a few weeks to learn Republican talking points is silly - it should call into question the sincerity of anything said now that contradicts the past.

13. I was going to say the same thing.
We were all told in early 2008 (after the Katie Couric interview LOL) that Sarah just needed to bone up on a few things and the media would have full access to her in a few weeks.

We all saw how well that turned out.

OH GOOD GOLLY YOU BETCHA!

15. Should be up to speed by 11/5/10
Call it what it is...hiding from the public. The whackaloons could get away with being extremists in their primaries, but can't either affirm or deny their positions now that their running in the GE. Affirming them makes them unelectable to the sane majority...denying them makes her just another lying politician in the eyes of her primary voters.

Rands hiding, Angle will hide, any far right Republican won't be available to expose their true political beliefs.
