Zimbabwe Blood Diamonds Talks Collapse

Regulators from 70 countries have failed to agree on whether to allow Zimbabwe to trade diamonds after allegations of human rights abuses in its mines.

As a result, the ban on Zimbabwean diamond exports is to remain in place, following a meeting in Israel of the industry's self-imposed watchdog.

The watchdog, known as the Kimberley Process, failed to reach agreement despite talking through the night at its annual meeting in Tel Aviv.

Zimbabwe was accused of allowing forced labour, rape and torture to continue in the lucrative Marange diamond mines.

1. I have a hard time believing Zimbabwe isn't an international pariah like North Korea.

We shouldn't be buying any of their exports.
