KABUL — The headless bodies of 11 Afghan civilians allegedly decapitated by Taliban insurgents have been found in central Afghanistan, police said Friday.

The bodies were found late Thursday in the Khas Uruzgan district of rural Uruzgan province, Mohammad Gulab, the provincial criminal investigation police chief, told AFP.

"Eleven civilians were found beheaded late yesterday," he said, blaming Taliban insurgents.

3. With a people as sub-divided as they are,
it would be ridiculous to lump them all in.
I'm sure that most, particularly those who remember when Afghanistan was a coherent nation-state, are quite modern.
Those who feel they have nothing to lose, foreigners included, who have no stake in an Afghan nation-state, are happy to behead other Afghans.

9. well, i guess we will just have to stay there...
no matter how long we stay there, however many we kill, and how apparently stable it becomes, the moment we leave it will fly back to the way it was within two weeks. Should we stay forever? Oh, Obama is commander in chief now, so war is good again :sarcasm:
