Reid Surges Ahead of Tea Party Favorite Angle
Source: Fox News

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is leading Tea Party favorite and Republican candidate Sharron Angle 52 to 36 percent among registered voters, a new Reuters/Ipsos poll shows.

In the last month the Real Clear Politics average has shown a slight lead for Reid, but the new surge is a turnaround for the majority leader, who earlier this year was facing dismal approval ratings and struggling in polls matching him up with potential Republican contenders.

1. She is a total embarrassment to the teabaggers
Even the freepers don't really want to talk about her any more and they used to carry on like she was the second coming.

36. HARRY SHOULD SEND A BOX OF CHOCOLATES TO SARAH!!!!!
with his ratings from the past year or so he was DOOMED....

it took SARAH and several PLUMBERS NAMED JOE to find a candidate who SCARED THE MIDDLE BACK TO THE LEFT ! ! !

it took 8 YEARS OF DUBYA to allow the AMERICANS to consider a BLACK MAN or a WOMAN for president ! ! !

---------------- while the GOP has invented DEATH PANELS and DEATH TAXES
and changed PRO CHOICE into PRO DEATH....

YOU CAN ALWAYS COUNT ON THEM TO COME THROUGH IN THE END WITH A CANDIDATE WHO CANNOT EVEN GET HER MOM'S VOTE

31. Welcome to DU!
Yea, it's scary that someone this stupid/crazy could get so close to the senate.

Of course, that happened in 2008 with Palin. So I guess it's scary that it could happen again.

10. always hoped
the tea-party vs. repub primary would get rid of the wrong part of the republicans (the moderates). Now they have moved even further to the nutty side leaving a chance for even Harry to get back in the race. Rand is the only reason Conway has a chance in KY. Trey Grayson would have won walking away, but Dr. Looney britches is going to make this interesting. Let's hope that Mitch will offer Rand some support & KY may well have its first Dem Senator in years!

11. Two ways this election could go.
If the vote is honestly recorded by the machines, Reid wins by approximately 52% to 36%.

If the vote goes as in SC with the ES&S machines, Reid loses by approximately 52% to 36%.

12. You left out an important detail.
But among likely voters, his margin is just 48 to 44, well within the 4.6 percent margin of error in the race for the Nevada senate seat.

So in other words, among likely voters that race is too close to call.

The latest Las Vegas Review-Journal poll has it 43-42.

http://www.rgj.com/article/20100802/NEWS/8020322/1321

A second statewide telephone survey this month by Washington, D.C.-based Mason-Dixon Polling & Research for the Las Vegas Review-Journal and KLAS-TV found 43 percent support for Reid and 42 percent for Angle. Six percent were undecided.

This race is going down to the wire. You can cherry pick favorable information from one poll, but most observers in Nevada expect it to be close. BTW, I am in Nevada.

and that's where most of the voters are, so hopefully that will be enough to propel him to victory, :woohoo:

until they get closer to the actual election.

Isn't that one of the quibbles with Rasmussen - he utilizes 'likely' much farther out
than is commonly done?

34. Exactly, Totodeinhere. Reid's support is not enthusiastic. Angle's is ready to storm the polls

with pitchforks.

And that's the problem all over the country.

When you factor in likely voters we are in big trouble nationally and even with Reid running against a total nut job he is still not well ahead.

This is because we do not "rile up" our base and they do.

40. I'm hoping the Hispanic vote will help turn it over in his favor
likewise there is speculation that the Hispanic vote in Central Florida might help Rep. Alan Grayson get re-elected, but in his case it would be from the Puerto Rican voters or possibly the younger Cuban-American voters.

Chicano vote in New Mexico should be helpful for Reid.
