Adolf Hitler Campbell's Parents Denied Custody Of Nazi-Named Children
Source: Huffington Post

A New Jersey couple who gave their children Nazi-inspired names should not regain custody of them, a state appeals court ruled Thursday, citing the parents' own disabilities and the risk of serious injury to their children.

The state removed Heath and Deborah Campbell's three small children from their home in January 2009.

A month earlier, the family drew attention when a supermarket refused to decorate a birthday cake for their son, Adolf Hitler Campbell. He and siblings JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell have been in foster care.

A family court had earlier determined that there was insufficient evidence that the parents had abused or neglected the children. That decision was stayed until the appeals court could review it. On Thursday, the three-judge appeals panel determined there was enough evidence and that the children should not be returned.

The panel sent the case back to family court for further monitoring.

3. These parents are outrageous and insensitive for naming their kid after a tyrant.
I wonder when the day'll come when kids named Pinochet, Mugabe, or maybe even Bush will get taken away.

Oh, and the article states that the parents are illiterate and have some mental issues. Don't look like fit parents to me.

4. Most likely
they heard those 3 names so often on Glenn Beck's comedy hour that they thought it was okay to name them that. Those two "parents" are exactly the type of people that he brainwashes and lies to so easily...illiterate with mental issues.

9. Where to draw the line though?
Would Joseph Stalin Campbell, Mao Tse Tung Campbell, or Pol Pot Campbell elicit a similar response?

15. "Stalin" was a popular name in India during WWII.
He was one of the Allies, and the extent of his... problems wasn't known at that time.

19. Stalin is still a popular name in India.
As is Lenin. Not so much now, but there are plenty of young people with those names in the subcontinent. Millions of Indians revere Lenin, Stalin, and Mao.

26. Maybe his parents just liked the sound of the name Vladimir.
I used to know someone who was named Lenin David. His parents were old socialists from the 1930's.

27. I wouldn't condemn them if it was the OTHER reason.
After all, there weren't a lot of reasons for people in places like the Dominican Republic to NOT be Communists. Especially after LBJ sent in the Marines.

28. Communists don't deserve condemnation.
They have a glorious tradition, in my opinion. Certainly as compared with the pro-capitalist activists and ideologues. The crimes of communists pale in comparison. Not that this is enough. We must aspire to a truly humanist ideology that takes the best of all human social science.

20. What about people who fly Confederate flags?
Supporting a symbol of slavery strikes me as pretty much on par with naming your kid after Hitler. A lot of damage is being done to the kids of those parents too.
