Berenson Apologizes for Aiding Rebels in Peru.

American activist Lori Berenson has apologized for aiding leftist rebels and asked a Peruvian court to let her remain free on parole.

The 40-year-old New Yorker acknowledges collaborating with the Tupac Amaru Revolutionary Movement but says she was never involved in violent acts.

3. she is out, but the prosecuter wants her back in. she was a groupie for the Shining Path
at minimum.

4. MRTA was a different group, but that's the basic idea
I won't cry either way the court decides - she's served a long time, it's true, but it doesn't seem like she was wrongly convicted (at leas the second time around). Peru's courts have the right to make their own decisions, and all I'd expect the US to do is ensure that she is treated fairly and humanely...

feeling a little scammed here frankly, apparently she knew who she was hanging with all the time -- in the day, she told a story of how it was a boyfriend who was involved and she got swept up all unknowing...

be that as it may, 15 yrs is a long time, do they want to feed & house this woman for her unwise associations forever?

their decision to make tho, she's admitted she's guilty, i'm done w. her, i have little sympathy for those who aid terror -- i won't be signing any more petitions for lori
