Four US troops killed in Afghanistan

Updated: Aug 22, 2010 9:56 AM EDT


Kabul, Afghanistan - Four U.S. troops have been killed in Afghanistan today.

NATO says three died in insurgent attacks and one was killed by a homemade bomb.

The deaths bring the number of international forces killed in Afghanistan this month to 42, including 28 Americans, according to a count by The Associated Press.

1. so I wonder who is funding the Taliban and who exactly we are fighting a proxy war with?
this is getting beyond believable - this is just another prolonged battle for all the money in our treasury and all the hope of the future for so many.

Spc. Jamal M. Rhett, 24, of Palmyra, N.J., died Aug. 15 in Ba Qubah, Iraq, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his vehicle with grenades. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.

Pvt. Charles M. High, IV, 21, of Albuquerque, N.M.


They were assigned to the 1st Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.
