Money laundering case against DeLay moving forward
Source: Associated Press

AUSTIN, Texas – Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay is moving to the next round in his fight against criminal indictments in Texas, where he faces money laundering and conspiracy charges.

DeLay and two co-defendants were indicted in 2005 in connection with efforts to elect Republican state legislative candidates in 2002. Since then, pretrial arguments have been making their way through appellate courts.

On Tuesday, remaining questions to be decided before trial — such as whether to try the defendants separately and whether there was any prosecutorial misconduct — are before Senior Judge Pat Priest. No trial date has been set, and it wasn't clear whether Priest would rule immediately on the issues before him.

DeLay's attorney, Dick DeGuerin, says the former district attorney who originally pursued the case against DeLay, Democrat Ronnie Earle, was motivated by politics.

2. As far as the feds are concerned he is free and clear.
Apparently its the state of Texas who's going after him.

This is not something that the federal government should feel proud of or crow about. As far as I'm concerned the announced refusal to file federal charges against DeLay is a disgrace. Maybe we can get whatever state Yoo's living in to file charges against him?

9. FIVE years
and nastiness follows in this evil bastard's wake. I'm not a fan of tatoos but I guess I need to have IOIWDDI imprinted somewhere as a constant reminder. (it's only illegal when Democrats do it)

13. Tom DeLay should be in prison right now awaiting trial without bond
The Federal Government needs to charge DeLay and put him and Cheney both in the same prison cell.

We are running out of time to bring charges against the architects of the Bush disaster. Cheney is going to die before we can bring him to trial.

12. Honestly, this is ridiculous.
His trial should have been over and done with years ago, in time for the election. Five years of pretrial motions is stupid and trying to run out the clock on a speedy-trial motion.
