1. Funny how just a few years ago Iceland was hailed as a "miracle" by free market zealots
And then Iceland's foray into deregulated banks predictably sank the nation into ruin. Similar thing happened to "free market miracle" Ireland.

4. Ireland too was held up by Republicans as a model because of their low corporate tax rates.

9. You keep telling us that over and over
and I still don't believe you.

The American people may surprise you yet, TheWatcher.

15. I can assure you that nothing would make me happier.
If I live to be surprised in my lifetime, then everything will have been worth it to see the change. :)

I am glad you still believe Nostradammit, and I hope you don't ever lose that belief.

Sadly, the years and the growing Idiocracy have worn me down to the point where I think we may have passed the point of no return.

I hope I am wrong, and you are right. :)

17. It will get interesting when extended unemployment benefits are
no longer offered. We are going to have millions of pissed-off people wandering the streets.

12. Meanwhile in America, millions wait to be raptured by Jesus.
The TV preachers still dangle the same rapture bullshit to millions of gullible marks, promising that JC and his Sonshine Band are going to make an appearance in a week or 2. Yesirree, JC is going to pop the trunk of his Holy Ford Explorer, whip out the Holy Hoover Vacuum Cleaner, switch it on and suck up all the rich white Christian Republicans and leave the godless atheist homo Democrats behind to face the judgement of The Big G.

And those who believe the pie in the sky bullshit vote Republican.

Those who believe the pie in the sky bullshit believe that the richer a person is, the more Jesus loves him.

Those who believe the pie in the sky bullshit are the most ardent followers of Ayn Rand and her "Look Out For #1 and Fuck Everyone Else" philosopy

Those who believe the pie in the sky bullshit are proud to look down on those who fell through the cracks.

Those who believe the pie in the sky bullshit do not believe they are their brothers keeper.

Those who believe the pie in the sky bullshit go to church on Sunday to show off their new wardrobes.

Those who believe the pie in the sky bullshit are going to get a very rude awakening when they die and their last breath they find out that it's really the end. And they've been played for the ignorant stupid fools that they really are.

5. American Politicians are quite Thankful that our population just can't be bothered.
We seem to like their lies and their Propaganda just fine.

After all, there's just too many Kardashians to keep up with to worry about The Rule Of Law, Civil Rights, Ending the unjust wars, Jailing the Banksters, etc.

Iceland just needs a good stable of Reality Shows and Sports to keep them straight and pacified like good little serfs.

:sarcasm:
