Whitman and Fiorina Won’t Appear With Palin and Steele
Source: NY Times

LOS ANGELES – It’s shaping up as two of the more star-studded Republican events of the fall: Sarah Palin, the former governor of Alaska, and Michael Steele, the head of the Republican National Committee, appearing on the same stage – first in Orange County and the following week in Orlando – at what is being billed as a “final path to victory” rallies, intended to raise campaign funds and build enthusiasm among conservatives as Election Day approaches.

But what may be the most interesting thing about the California rally next Saturday is not who is on the stage – but who is not.

Meg Whitman, the Republican candidate for governor, and Carly Fiorina, the Republican candidate for Senate, are both going to skip the rallies, aides to the two candidates said today. Both claimed previous campaign commitments. “It’s a national R.N.C. fundraiser, which we’re not planning to attend. We have competing campaign events that day,” said Tucker Bounds, an aide to Ms. Whitman.

The fact that these two Republican candidates would find someplace else to be on a Saturday afternoon less than a month before Election Day is not exactly a surprise, considering the political dynamics of this state. There are not enough Republican base voters out there to carry anyone to victory anymore in California. And independent voters – who have been the main target of Ms. Whitman in recent days – have a decidedly unfriendly view of Ms. Palin, here and across the country.

Now she's gonna piss off the stupid ones too.

Good move, "meg". She might lose this election by 20 points.

5. “final path to victory”
Yes. Having Palin as President would bring a certain finality.

7.  “final path to victory”=final solution to the intelligence question
Could 2 such vacuous craniums being on the same stage cause a shift in the poles.

Please cancel this "meeting of the minds" for the sake of humanity. Just because you have the right doesn't mean it's right to do.

8. Tucker Bounds? I knew I recognized that name from McCain/Palin
Whitman is surrounding herself with Palin/McCain staff. I'll do my part, and place the X next to Brown.
