US Soldier Charged with Killing Comrades in Iraq
Source: The Stockton Record

(The Stockton Record) - A U.S. Army specialist was charged with killing two fellow American troops and wounding a third during a shooting spree last month in Iraq, The Stockton Record reported Thursday.

Two charges of premeditated murder were filed against Army Specialist Neftaly Platero, who is accused of shooting to death Specialist John Carrillo Jr. of Stockton, Calif., and Private Gebrah Noonan of Watertown, Conn., last month in their living quarters in Fallujah.

U.S. Forces-Iraq, based in Baghdad, reported late Wednesday that Platero, 32, of Houston, Tex., was charged with two specifications of premeditated murder and one specification of attempted premeditated murder following his Sept. 23 actions that left Carrillo and Noonan dead and gravely injured a third soldier, whose name has not been released. Carrillo, 20, and Noonan, 26, died Sept. 24.

1. Teach people to kill and act surprised when they do? At least he wasn't killing
innocent women and children.

3. No, he was killing innocent men
Some Mother & Father's sons. Is that okay with you?

4. I was refering to people who belong/live in the region. Invaders and occupiers from the west are,
by their very presence there, not innocent.

5. Are you saying that American service people
who are killed in the region are not a loss of innocent life? Sounds like it, but I just want to be sure I understand your position.

6. To a greater or lesser degree, they share in the guilt.
It takes a finger to pull a trigger.

8. Loss of life may be regrettable. But innocent - no frakin way. Every one of those
"American service people" are there by choice.

There is no draft so anyone in the military has the choice of supporting these illegal, immoral wars or taking a stand against them, even though there would be consequences.

But I guess we have learned the lesson from the pukes - there are no consequences for any actions and we should not expect to have to pay any.

9. That is exactly what we are saying. There's no such thing as an innocent soldier--
--at least not in this instance where they are part of an occupying force against a foreign country which never attacked their own.

7. Typically Iraqis have mothers and fathers too
and aren't being bred for target practice. Although some American servicemembers apparently feel otherwise.
