China overtakes Japan as world's second-biggest economy
Source: BBC News

China has overtaken Japan as the world's second-biggest economy.

Japan's economy was worth $5.474 trillion (£3.414 trillion) at the end of 2010, figures from Tokyo have shown. China's economy was closer to $5.8 trillion in the same period.

Japan has been hit by a drop in exports and consumer demand, while China has enjoyed a manufacturing boom.

At its current rate of growth, analysts see China replacing the US as the world's top economy in about a decade.

4. You don't think that's happened already?
It's been going on for a long time as far as I can tell. We're having an arms race against no one, we're losing, and it's destroyed the country, if not forever, for several decades.

6. This is apparent to you and I, but not to the masses.
The moment a teabagger has to stand in line for toilet paper, the light bulb will light.

8. Remember when the Chinese were "Red China"...
and Mao's policies had thrown them backwards about 30 years? Communes and all that Communist crap.

The Repubs - and the Dems - were all scared shitless that the dirt-poor Chinese peasants were gonna invade or something and take over.

We spent a ton of money preparing for war with the heathen Red Chinese.

Then the Chinese learned to play Capitalism.

Now we have our limpdick overpaid CEOs in competition with their hardened, economic-combat tested commie-corporatists.

Man... I long for the days of "Red" China.
