US to use Facebook, Twitter to issue terror alerts
Source: Associated Press

The U.S. government's new system to replace the five color-coded terror alerts will have two levels of warnings _ elevated and imminent _ that will be relayed to the public only under certain circumstances for limited periods of time, sometimes using Facebook and Twitter, according to a draft Homeland Security Department plan obtained by The Associated Press.

Some terror warnings could be withheld from the public entirely if announcing a threat would risk exposing an intelligence operation or an ongoing investigation, according to the government's confidential plan.

Like a gallon of milk, the new terror warnings will each come with a stamped expiration date.

... The new terror alerts would also be published online using Facebook and Twitter "when appropriate," the plan said, but only after federal, state and local government leaders have already been notified. The new system is expected to be in place by April 27.

3. Threatening American's lives with fake terror alerts is domestic terrorism
Plain and simple. Of course we'll never be able to prosecute anyone for it, we're all peons.

11. The USA was bought for peanuts while the harvest is trillions
I agree but I also put the real threat to America as crony capitalism and the corporations and banks that own the legislators and run our government, yet have no ties to the USA. The USA has been a cash cow for them thanks to institutions such as the Federal Reserve etc. These corporate elites are globalists that don't consider the USA as their country nor do they believe the people deserve their citizenship.

The CEOs and other financial elite have bought the USA for peanuts and reap trillions in rewards.

There are other issues involved such as missing government leadership with loyalty to the USA people.

8. Shows how little they understand these systems. They wouldn't have to use Facebook
Ten seconds after the MSM ran the story, every wall on FB and every Tweet would be about the alert. On the other hand, the quickest way to get people to ignore or ridicule something is to make it official.

If you want to capture someone's attention, whisper.

12. Yet another reason for me to avoid Facebook & Twitter
I've held out on both of 'em in spite of my friends cajoling me to at least get a Facebook ID. I don't care much for the online social networking sites, but I realize I'm the minority opinion on that topic.

25. First I ever heard of twitter was on youtube. On an information channel hosted by... wait for it...
Homeland Security. If I wanted to use it, my first message would be:

Dear Big Brother,

I want to tell you the names of all my friends, everywhere I go, everything I'm doing and every thought that pops into my head!

Thanks for helping bring into being the global fascist state that silly George Orwell was trying to tell us about. What a wussy. So glad no one listens to him anymore.

I just activated my onboard cam on my computer so you can see me here at home in my pajamas and listen to everything I say and do. I hope this means that you have a personal interest in my life and want to be my new best friend. The last one didn't work out so well.

Yours truly,

Utter Idiot

17. What could possibly go wrong?
It's not like every mischievous 15-year old has easy access to the smart phone in the backpack of the girl who sits in front of him in class and can issue similar or identical warnings virtually without notice.
