Gabrielle Giffords want to go back to work: Husband
Source: CBS News

A week from today, Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords is scheduled to be there when her husband, Mark Kelly, launches into space aboard the Endeavour Space Shuttle.

Giffords is recovering after being shot in the head in January.

Kelly talked to "CBS Evening News" anchor Katie Couric about what his wife wants, going forward.

Kelly told Couric, "One thing she frequently comes back to is, you know, going back to work. Going back to her office. And - you know, how important it is for her to serve her constituents. She talks about that all the time. Going back to Tucson. I mean, she wants to get back to Tucson. She wants to get back to her district. She wants to get back to Washington."

2. Good. Assault Clips failed to stop this Democratic Congresswoman.
Can't wait to see her back to work.

4. I'm so glad to read this.
That's what I've been concerned about -- that assuming she heals up well enough and works hard on physical therapy etc., will she still WANT to continue in her job?

Experiencing a traumatic event changes you in all kinds of ways. I was hoping that if she was able to return that she'd also want to return.
I'm happy. :fistbump:

7. She has a great staff - they should ease her back in a little at a time
so she can go at her own pace. She has so much courage.

8. Wonderful news!
I'm delighted to hear that she's making such a rapid recovery. Three months ago, I never in my wildest dreams would have thought that by now she would be already talking at all, much less carrying on a conversation about going back to work. This is literally twice as fast as my mother's TBI recovery was.

11. It's amazing that she's even talking! We don't know what her speech is like, but
when her husband says, "she talks about that all the time", it sounds like she's talking a lot!

She is an inspiration.

13. That tears me up
I was told here a few days ago that she wasn't really our friend but it doesn't matter if that is true or not. My hope for her is to get back to work like she wants. What a strong wonderful woman is all I can think of.

14. I haven't seen her since she was shot, but:
If any vestige of her old personality survives, and it seems like just about all of it has,
she will come back to Congress as the warm, caring ("I don't do handshakes, I do hugs")
person I know. And she DOES have a great staff! If anyone can bounce back from what she has
been through, it's Gabby Giffords.
