WikiLeaks documents reveal U.S. views on Canada
Source: CBC News

WikiLeaks released new leaked documents on Thursday that include comments about the Harper government's stand on crime, criticism of Canada's failure to enact copyright reform, and insights into U.S. monitoring of the parliamentary prorogation debate of 2008.

In one leaked cable from January 2010, the U.S. ambassador to Canada was quoted as being critical of Stephen Harper's Conservative government's 'tough on crime' stance.

"The Conservatives have used the crime agenda to great effect, making it an essential part of their "brand," in spite of the fact that they have not actually passed most of their proposed crime and security legislation," the cable said.

6. Could you provide a link to the Manning claims please.
All I have heard is that they were keeping him naked for a bit due to concerns that he might harm himself but I have not heard that they were waterboarding him or anything else like that.

5. Ha!
Not much there that Canadians didn't know about. I'm only surprised at the embassy staff's reactions and misinterpretations of Canadian politics.

They look like raw recruits in Canadian current events.
