Yemeni forces kill 10, hurt hundreds

At least ten Yemeni anti-government protesters have been killed and 226 others wounded after security forces opened fire on an overnight demonstration in the capital city of Sana'a, medics say.

"The total death toll from the confrontations has reached 12," a medical staff told AFP after two protesters were killed earlier on Wednesday in Sana'a.

Hundreds of others also sustained injuries during the attack, ten of whom are in critical conditions.

On Wednesday night, Yemen's security forces and plainclothes gunmen opened fire on thousands of demonstrators marching from Sana'a University Square toward government headquarters, witnesses said.
