Gov. Rick Snyder, along with 24 other governors from around the country, signed his name to a letter urging President Obama and Congress to expand trade agreements to grow the economy.

"In an ever-competitive, global economy, it is important that the United States act on new and expanded trade agreements in order to achieve greater economic prosperity through international trade," read the letter, co-authored by Iowa's Gov. Terry E. Branstad, Gov. Sam Brownback of Kansas, Gov. Haley Barbour of Mississippi, Gov. Lincoln Chafee of Rhode Island, Gov. Gary Richard Herbert of Utah, and Gov. Chris Gregoire of Washington. "

"Three such agreements appear to be near at hand and we offer bipartisan support for the South Korean, Colombian, and Panamanian trade agreements."

Michigan lawmakers and business owners have said approval of pending free trade agreements with Colombia, Panama and South Korea could increase revenue and create jobs regionally and across the country.

2. The best way to get jobs and economic growth is through free trade agreements.
This is great news. Free Trade Agreements are truly win-win, both for economic growth and prospects for peace.

3. I agree, the benefits outweigh the short term impact
On the KFTA the problems I see are with protectionism (on the Korean side) having to do with rice, beef and cars. Personally I don't think the US Congress will ratify that one.
