Capitol Police arrest Lemonade Freedom Day protesters
Source: The Daily Caller

They set out to sell ice-cold lemonade, but now three Washington, D.C. protesters might need some legal aid.

Capitol police arrested three people Saturday afternoon for selling lemonade on the West Lawn of the Capitol Building. They were participating in “Lemonade Freedom Day” — a national demonstration against a spate of recent lemonade stand shutdowns by police and health inspectors.

According to the D.C. group’s Facebook event page, three lemonistas — Meg Mclain, K.n. Dill and Will Duffield — were taken into custody by Capitol Police. It is not known what the protesters were charged with. The Capitol Police did not return calls for information.

However, the protesters were selling lemonade on the Capitol lawn, rather than the sidewalk. The selling of any item on Capitol grounds is prohibited...

4. I wonder why we don't just allow everybody to set up a booth on the Capitol lawn
and sell anything to anybody who comes along

Wouldn't it be great if you could go there and buy a pair of skull-and-crossbone shoes and a t-shirt that says "Fuck yall" and some powdered rhinohorn to make you big and strong like a rhino and a crackpipe shaped like your favorite congressperson and maybe a little bag of meth and a cheap handgun and a thousand rounds of ammo and such?

I really hope these oppressed lemonade dealers march up to Boston and dump their lemonade in the harbor there!

15. Senator Ron Wyden of OR bought lemonade from a couple of kids
while he was touring the state this week. He's a hell of a guy; I just love him.

10. The "Protesters" are Right-Wing Libertarian Activist's
Edited on Sat Aug-20-11 09:42 PM by OneAngryDemocrat
My guess is that that were seeking to 'suggest' that their right to sell free-market lemonade was being infringed upon, even though they were actually simple trespassers...

...who are also funded by the Koch brothers and ardent supporters of the Tea Party.

This is a James O'Keefe-style smear job, folks.

11. The link in your own post contains a refutation of your claims...
that they are funded by the Koch brothers. Do you have any evidence that this 'lemonade protest'
was a Koch funded stunt ?

The sons of bitches "refuting" the claim were llibertarian right-wingers.

14. Perhaps I did...
...but she's STILL a looney Libertarian.
