Libyan rebels won't reveal identities of Younes' killers
Source: Reuters

* Investigation complete but remains secret

* Arrests to be made later, revolution a priority

* Killing "nearly brought down the revolution"

By Robert Birsel

BENGHAZI, Libya, Aug 25 (Reuters) - Libya's rebel council knows who killed their top military commander but will not immediately identify them for fear the information will hurt the revolution, the council's chairman said on Thursday.

Rebel military commander Abdel Fattah Younes, Gaddafi's interior minister before defecting to the rebels on Feb. 22, was killed on July 28 after he was taken into custody by his own side for questioning, sparking an investigation into his death.

"They have reached a final conclusion and the identities of those who assassinated (Younes) have started appearing," National Transitional Council chairman Mustafa Abdel Jalil told a news conference.

"They will be arrested at a time when the higher interests of this revolution will not be damaged."

4. I wonder if the timing of the killing
coincided with the rebels sudden turn toward success. It does seem they are doing much better after the commander than before.

5. The only reason the "rebels" suddenly turned toward success,
was massive insertion of Qatari and Emirati regulars led by SAS officers, all
disguised in civilian clothing, into their ranks. Maybe Yusouf was against
this plan and had to be eliminated.

6. A reminder for those who urge us to take it to the streets -
revolution is rarely tidy.

7. Humans die in revolutions.
It's the norm. Sadly.

Revolutions happen when those who wage them have come to a point they feel they have nothing else to lose than life itself if they don't wage them. Sadly again.

All a result of excessive greed by a few.

8. Filthy
Deplorable.

Arrogant.

Sloppy.

Selfish.

Scary.

Count the bodies, folks, and count the oil deals.

Still, it may not be a disaster; perhaps the tribes can keep thing at a low simmer.

Who knows? (Well, the interventionists "know"; they're the ones who seem to have all the answers.)
