WARSAW, Poland - Poland's outgoing prime minister said Wednesday that Spain's withdrawal of troops from Iraq (news - web sites) could not be ignored, a first hint that Poland may be having doubts about its mission there.

"We cannot turn a blind eye to the fact that Spain and others are leaving Iraq," Prime Minister Leszek Miller told the Polish news agency PAP.

"We will not make any rash gestures," he said. "The final decision about the pullout will be agreed and thought over, but the problem exists."

Miller, who is stepping down May 2, said the problem would be addressed by his successor.

1. What's Polish for
"I am also unable to turn a blind eye to the fact the Spanish leader who refused to withdraw his troops is now on unemployment. Therefore...HASTA LA VISTA, MORAN!"

7. No not more than Britain, but they are commanding 21 nations' troops
The UK has about 8,700 soldiers in Iraq, down from about 40,000 during the war.

Polish soldiers are commanding a 9,000-strong 21-nation force in the south-central region of Iraq - in a zone between the US and UK-led areas. Poland is contributing about 2,400 troops to the force.

8. Am I confused, or has yahoo their story change.
snip.....WARSAW, Poland - Poland is not considering a troop pullout from Iraq (news - web sites), despite the outgoing prime minister's comments on the subject, the government spokesman said on Wednesday.

"Poland will be in Iraq as long as it necessary, until the situation there is stabilized," spokesman Marcin Kaszuba told The Associated Press. "Poland has not and is not considering a troop withdrawal."
