'Chalabi gave Iran information on US occupation of Iraq'

PTI< MONDAY, MAY 03, 2004 09:42:35 AM >

NEW YORK: Ahmed Chalabi, a long-time Pentagon favourite to become leader of Iraq after maintenance Hussein's ouster, and some of his top aides supplied Iran with sensitive information on American occupation of Iraq which could "get people killed," a media report said on Monday quoting top Bush administration officials.

The electronic intercepts of discussions between Iranian leaders indicate that Chalabi and his entourage told Iranian contacts about American political plans in Iraq, Newsweek quoted American officials as saying.

There are also indications that Chalabi has provided details of US security operations, the news magazine quotes one US government source to say some of the information Chalabi turned over to Iran could "get people killed."

he hires the team. if he uses poor judgement there, then he will probably use poor judgement on other things.

5. Chalabi wants to be the great pan-Shiite leader
Edited on Mon May-03-04 11:43 PM by PurityOfEssence
He may be secular (well, secular, in his case, since his god is money) but maybe that's the key: maybe he senses that Iran's reactionary theocracy can't last unchanged forever, and a powerful leader could redraw the lines in the sand and create a Greater Shasta. The man's a certified megalomaniac, and having had such a hell of a hot run at the dice table for the past few decades, he might just think he can pull something like this off.

Kay, it's a bit far fetched; maybe he just wants to be the Big Kahuna of a Shina dominated Iraq, with close ties and assistance from Iran. Whatever.

He certainly is a piece of work, isn't he?

6. I've figured it out!
Edited on Tue May-04-04 12:13 AM by section321
Bush said, "You're either with us, or against us." However, his small, simple mind can't handle the concept of someone being both with us and against us.

So, as long as someone "helps" us here, they are with us. Bush's brain would explode if he actually had to figure out the real position of someone like Chalabi.

Sad. Why are we ruled by this idiot? (rhetorical question)
