HOTTEST DAY EVER - U.K.
Edited on Wed Aug-06-03 03:24 AM by dArKeR
BRITAIN is set to wilt in record 100F temperatures today.

The Met Office said: "There's a very good chance it will be the hottest day ever. All the conditions are in place."

Bookies William Hill refused last night to take any more bets on the landmark being reached after slashing the odds from 33-1 to 6-4. As the summer heatwave continued Prince Charles told workers in Glasgow: "It's bloody hot."

Try Asia at 35-39C and 80% humidity.

I take an extended break from the UK for the first time EVER and we have the best Summer in 30 years.......and of course I go to the Southern Hemisphere, where it's bloody Winter....

GRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!

However, I should point out that in the UK, as soon as it goes to 25 degrees Celcius, the temperature markers on weather reports change from yellow to red. Seriously, it is unusal for temps to go above 27, even in the Summer in the UK.

4. HOT!
I told my friend in Manchester to take off the wool suit, loosen the tie and stop complaining! Usually I hear "It's cold and rainy."
Enjoy it while you can!!

2. global warming is a myth
Be sure to put on your woolen undies when you go out, it's actually cold out. Liberals are in charge of the media, and have convinced you it's hot.

8. Ok someone had to say it
It is hot. It may have something to do with global warming. Maybe it does, maybe it does not.

It actually was cold out last winter in Rhode Island, and it was just about the coldest winter in history. Does that mean global warming does not exist? No. It was just a cold winter.

Heat waves happen. Cold spells happen. Neither can prove or dis-prove the existance of global warming.

11. Extreme swings like this are unusual
that is just another indicator that things are "different".

12. In the 1600's there was a mini ice age
There are paintings of people ice skating on the River Thames in London. (that doesn't happen)

There are fluctuations that occur naturally (ice age anyone?).

The consensus among meteorologists is that we are in a temperature upswing and that it is uncertain how much greenhouse gases are contributing to it, but it is certain that we are contributing to it.
My preference is that we listen to Gore and do something about it.

13. Weather has been unusual for as far back as I can remember
I find phrases like "stable weather" to be absolutely ridiculous. What the hell is stable weather? Is not weather inherently instable?

Come on down to Dallas for the afternoon...

http://www.dallasnews.com/latestnews/stories/080603dnmetweather.100ecd6a9.html

"North Texans should brace for the hottest day of the year Wednesday, when temperatures could climb as high as 108 degrees in the southern part of the region.

In the Dallas area, the heat index will approach 110 degrees by late afternoon, said WFAA meteorologist Steve McCauley.
