WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S., British and Libyan officials held "constructive" talks in London Monday about efforts to resolve the dispute over the 1988 bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland, a British diplomat said.
"We are pleased with the progress that's been made at the meeting. It was a constructive session," said the British diplomat, who asked not to be named.
U.S. officials last week said they saw a 50-50 chance the dispute might soon be resolved with a Libyan admission of responsibility for the bombing in which all 259 people aboard the Boeing jumbo jet and 11 people on the ground died.
