DADE CITY - Pasco County sheriff's deputies got a glimpse into policing in the 21st century Monday, as they donned protective suits as part of a directive from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Ten deputies were issued personal protection gear, complete with suits, boots, two sets of gloves and mask, designed to keep them safe in what's known as the ``Cold Zone.'' By fall, more than 400 of the gear packages will be issued to sworn law enforcement personnel in Pasco, said Cpl. Troy Fergueson, who instructed Monday's class at Pasco-Hernando Community College.

In the coming months, police agencies statewide will be issued the gear. The program is under the direction of the Florida Division of Emergency Management through a federal grant aimed at preparing first responders for chemical or biological terrorist attacks.

A little more to the story, but not a lot.
Is anyone else thinking or wondering if Florida will yet again be the deciding/determining factor in this election, but in a NEW way? I keep hearing jebbie's voice,
"I have something devious planned." Albeit this was in regards to something that was voted on regarding a constitutional amendment I believe. That phrase just keeps haunting me.
Any other states getting these TERRA suits? Looks kinda on the cheap side to me...these suits. I mean look at the top where it meets the mask...that could very well pull back to where it is open. Reminds me of duck tape and plastic meme!
