Man who confessed after seeing "The Passion of the Christ" sentenced for m
A Texas man who said the movie "The Passion of the Christ" led him to confess to strangling his girlfriend has been sentenced to 75 years in prison. .snip.

The 21-year-old had confessed he killed his 19-year-old girlfriend because she was pregnant with his child and he did not want to have anything to do with her or the unborn child.

Leach came forward in March after seeing Mel Gibson's movie depicting the last hours of Jesus.

His girlfriend's death had originally been ruled a suicide.

3. Here's how......
He later gave detectives a lengthy interview in which he laid out in exacting detail how he strangled her with the tassel from her graduation gown and made it seem as though she committed suicide. He did so by tying the cord to the bed rail and positioned her body so that it appeared that she had hanged herself.

4. Well, she's still dead.
I have no problem with putting this creep away, but the fact stands that this snuff film has stirred up a new round of racism and hate crimes.

South Park's realistic portrayal of Gibson still gives me the willies.

6. Let's see how he feels about his decision in 10 years
When he's still looking down the barrel of 50 years in the penitentiary.

12. Let's not
I don't wish misery on people. I guess that makes me a soft lefty asshole.

I'll take it. resentment raises my blood pressure, and I feel like a live better when I'm not too bitter and hateful.

death?

Sometimes it's easy to be a 'softy' isn't it? I think anyone with a conscience will suffer. I suggest when one murders another human being, the rest of their life isn't filled with joy.

My grandmother was murdered to death, her killer never turned himself in.

I gathered from your post you felt the kid made a mistake because he would be spending time in jail? :eyes: Let's just say his girlfriend and her family aren't so friggen LUCKY.

So pardon my hardened liberal ass, but I sure am glad the kid won't be able to kill any more girlfriends who dare to disapoint.

10. I really couldn't care less what the miserable murderer thinks
now or later. He snuffed out two futures and I would have given him the express lane to hell.

15. Jesus would want him to serve the full 75 years, maybe even 100
Believe me, it's the best thing for this dumbass to serve every damn day of the harshest sentence anyone can give him. It will help make him right with the image of God that he worships. Far be it from me to deny him that pleasure.

17. Will this get as much coverage as Scott Peterson?
Isn't this the same type of situation that they right wingers are trying to exploit in the Scott Peterson trial? I somehow doubt that they want this guy to be their poster child.
