Greiner, a state legislator from rural Keota, said in a midnight phone interview Monday that the highlight of her day was a women's rally at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City, about 20 blocks from Madison Square Garden, where this year's convention is being held. Keynote speaker of the rally, titled "'W' Stands for Women," was the president's mother, Barbara Bush.

"She almost choked up when she said what a total thrill it was for her to see the Iraqi and Afghanistan teams compete in the Olympics," Greiner said. "And then she spoke about a young women there from Afghanistan who, for the first time, was able to have her head uncovered and her face exposed. It was just very good."
