Treasury secretary campaigns hard (in battleground states)

WASHINGTON (CBS.MW) - U.S. Treasury Secretary John Snow is making his 38th taxpayer-paid trip to a campaign battleground state Thursday when he visits Orlando, Fla.

From his first day job as the second-ranking member of President Bush's Cabinet, Snow has been unabashedly loyal to his boss, saying his number one job as treasury secretary is to win support for President Bush's economic policies.

<snip>

It is Snow's fifth trip to Florida this year. He was in Tampa, Fla., on Wednesday.

The overwhelming majority of Snow's travel outside Washington this year has been to one of 11 so-called battleground states, where the Bush and John Kerry campaigns are spending millions of dollars in advertising.

Of 43 domestic out-of-town trips Snow has taken in 2004, 32 have been to campaign hot spots, including nine trips to Ohio, and five each to Florida, Pennsylvania and Missouri. Bush probably needs to win three of the four states to be re-elected.

1. It's no longer a cabinet, it's a campaign staff.
What a load of horseshit. Where's the press? Oh, yeah...with their heads up their asses.

5. Treasury? What treasury? We're bankrupt.
John Snow should be thrown into jail with the rest of them for helping to empty the treasury directly into the pockets of the widowmakers.

Remember when we used to fight over how to spend the surplus?
:grr:

6. Hey Snow! What Economic Policies?
Edited on Thu Oct-21-04 10:49 AM by ProfessorGAC
He's saying his first job was to win support for Li'l Georgie's economic policies. There AREN'T ANY ECONOMIC POLICIES!

Even the stupid tax cuts weren't really intended to promote any economic health parameters. It was a PAYOFF! That's it.

There are no policies at all. Snow is a syncophant and has as much business being Treasury Secretary as does my cat. (Actually less.)
The Professor

On Edit: I added the "Actually Less" parenthetical, because i didn't want to insult my cat.

9. I work at an Ohio newspaper and he was definitely here
at the paper about a month ago, but it was so hush hush the only reason I knew is because I saw the building security standing in front of the freight elevator and asked who was here and someone told me Sec. of Treasury. There was nothing in the paper about the visit.
