DeLay's Troubles: GOP must decide where it stands (Dallas Morning News)
<snip> What kind of mess is Mr. DeLay in? For starters, there's that ongoing money-laundering probe in Travis County, in connection with the DeLay-driven congressional redistricting effort.

Next, there's the ugly business with the House Ethics Committee, which after admonishing Mr. DeLay three times for ethics violations, had its Republican chairman sacked and replaced with a DeLay loyalist. The GOP majority also changed the rules to defang the committee.

And then there's the ongoing FBI investigation into two Washington lobbyists closely tied to the lawmaker, an investigation involving possible illegal use of contributions to pay for junkets and other goodies for members of Congress – including Mr. DeLay, who enjoyed a $70,000 golfing trip to Scotland five years ago with one of the lobbyists, Jack Abramoff. <snip>

3. Well, I don't think we should start the celebration until the door hits
him in the ass. This skunk has more lives than the proverbial cat.

Let the vultures take care of him. I have nothing but contempt for this fucking piece of shit. If the crappy Dallas Morning News is turning against him, it's time to let him go back to the cockroaches.

9. The GOP already made it clear where it stands.
Only the pinheads at the DMN can't see it. They changed the ethics rules, they changed the ethics committee members, they donate to the Delay "defense fund", they deny he's done anything wrong. To a person with even a few working brain cells, that makes it pretty clear where the GOP stands.

They won't let Delay fall. The fundies love him so the GOP has to keep him. Plus, he knows where all the dirty laundry is hidden.

11. Agreed
Delay is so arrogant he's probably already told Cheney to go piss up a rope, and that he's running the show in the house.

Delay won't roll over for anyone. He's a psychopath and is utterly convinced in the righteousness of his position.
