How to ruin a great army? See Donald Rumsfeld
WASHINGTON - Armies are fragile institutions, and for all their might, easily broken.

It took the better part of 20 years to rebuild the Army from the wreckage of Vietnam. With the hard work of a generation of young officers, blooded in Vietnam and determined that the mistake would never be repeated, a new Army rose Phoenix-like from the ashes of the old, now perhaps the finest Army in history.

In just over three years, Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld and his civilian aides have done just about everything they could to destroy that Army.

3. Great article
Isn't it funny how "Support our troops" really meant "support an unneccsary war, screw our troops, and ruin the whole darn army."

5. The army's families are also being destroyed
...looming social problems for America to deal with. The rightwingers don't like to spend money on social programs/education, so look toward building more prisons in the future.

Bush has created a powder keg in every hemisphere.

7. And Joe Galloway knows of what he speaks
Hope the troops and their families reflect what Rummy and AWOL are doing to our Army and Marines.

8. Rummy is falling out of favor with the neocons.

There is talk of asking for his resignation, although I doubt Shrub will do that.
