Watching Dick Cheney's latest oblivious blunder ( By the way, the first person he called, after the shooting, was Karl Rove ~ " Karl, this is Dick ~ how do we spin ourselves out of this mess ? " ) as well as his shameless, deceitful and vindictive speeches remind me of an insightful article by Rolling Stone which I featured in September of 2004 entitled THE CURSE OF DICK CHENEY.

T.D Allman brilliantly reveals in detail how Cheneys career has been marred by one disaster after another . This is a long but compelling insight into, perhaps, the most dangerous and shameless man in our government today. A must read !

Excerpt: " The period between August 1974 and November 1976, when Ford lost the election to Jimmy Carter, is essential to understanding George W. Bush's disastrous misjudgments -- and Dick Cheney's role in them. In both cases, Cheney and Rumsfeld played the key role in turning opportunity into chaos. Ford, like Bush later, hadn't been elected president. As he entered office, he was overshadowed by a secretary of state (Kissinger then, Powell later) who was considered incontestably his better. Ford was caught as flat-footed by the fall of Saigon in April 1975 as Bush was by the September 2001 attacks. A better president, with more astute advisers, might have arranged a more orderly ending to the long and divisive war. I read this article about 2 years ago. I was abosolutely haunted by it. Had to put it down, go back and read some more, think about it some more. Just unbelievable. I was amazed at how much wreckage and debris is in Cheney's past - the man's a complete and total failure. They called it the "Curse of Cheney" that's how bad he is.

There is NO doubt in my mind - Cheney is running this country. THAT's why nothing was done during Katrina - they were all waiting for orders from Cheney. Cheney, however, was in Colorado buying a mansion.

Everything makes sense - 9/11, the push for war, the dismantling of this country.

Cheney may have been marred by disaster but his successes are more astonishing.

The man has been able to achieve more through his ruthless bullying techniques than any other VP in our nation's history. He's accomplished exactly what he's wanted from the beginning, power that will ultimately destroy this country if he continues on this path.
