Here it is...the cover story for the next stolen election
http://www.washtimes.com/national/20060227-123359-5955r.htm

Most polls say a majority of registered voters would vote Democrat if the congressional elections were held today, but a new independent polling analysis now finds that Republicans could lead among people who actually vote.
The CNN/USA Today/Gallup Poll reported last week that the Democrats led Republicans among registered voters in the generic congressional survey by 50 percent to 43 percent, a seven-point margin that could give Democrats enough victories to take control of the House, if their supporters participate in November's elections.
But a deeper analysis of these numbers by David W. Moore for the Gallup Poll said, "It is likely many voters will not do so" because turnout among registered voters tends to be lower than that among "likely voters" who say they plan to vote and usually do.
more..........

They can't come up with a reason why we would keep a Repug house and senate so.......dems don't vote will be the cover story.

1. Bullshit....
This is a naked attempt to convince people of something they don't believe and luckily, people don't buy it.

2. I'm getting a slowly growing yet irresistible idea of demanding a receipt

...for my vote.

Any lawyers here that can tell me what might happen to me if I quietly yet firmly demand a receipt at the polling place?

5. I'm not a lawyer, but this is a question of
your local voting laws and regulations. You want your state's legislature to enact a law that requires such a receipt.

You could probably insist on a paper ballot -- many places allow for those, but if your precinct has the electronic machines, it's possible the paper ballot won't be counted unless the election results are very close.

Here in Johnson County, Kansas, I'm told that the paper ballots are counted first, even before the polls close, since the paper ballots all have to be in to the election office the day before election day.

Very interesting. So what if a paper ballot drive among Democrats consisted of, say 15% of the votes. Does this mean that the paper ballots might not be counted if the electronic vote showed a Republican win of slightly over 10%?

(Edited to say: Thanks for answering my original question above, it's appreciated.)

8. Something like that.
I'm extremely vague on the specifics, and it would be a jurisdiction by jurisdiction thing. Maybe even precinct by precinct.

You want to find out how your local election board does it. Typically the election board is a county-level organization. In fact, if at all possible, volunteer to work for the local election board this fall. I expect you'll learn everything you ever wanted to know about just how well run and honest elections are where you live.

Here's something about electronic machines here in Kansas:

I live in Johnson County, a very Republican part of a largely Republican state (although we do have a wonderful Democratic governor, Kathleen Sebelius). I ran for the Kansas State House against a popular incumbent moderate Republican, so of course I lost. And I'm not at all questioning my loss nor the actual numbers of votes for each of us. However, I had poll watchers at each of my 16 precincts at the end of the day so that they could get the vote counts as they were called in to the election board, so that I wouldn't be too surprised when the official results came out.

Fully half of the electronic machines could not print out their results, and that had to wait until the computer card in each one was brought to the election board to be read there. However, of those that were readable (meaning printable), the vote counts were in line with the final results. Here in Kansas there was no need for anyone to tamper with the machines to rig the results, but I am fully aware of the vulnerability of the machines to tampering and fraud.

9. Thank you for taking the time to explain the details. Appreciated.

I'm getting one of my "dangerous ideas" thinking about personally demanding that Diebold give me the same printout of my vote choices that they give me from one of their ATM machine transactions.
