Just outside on the wall of this building is the large mural of "Phoenixville" complete with images of white-hot molten steel, iron girders and the faces of people from this borough's past - people who made up that mysterious almost forgotten community known as middle-class America.
For years, Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, has been the single last bastion of the Democratic Party in all of Chester County. Thankfully, this trend is reversing and the county is beginning to see its' first pale shades of 'blue.' But it has been a rough couple of years around here and in the entire nation as well. For a while, anyone who expressed a Democratic opinion was labeled unpatriotic.
But now, if the all the national and state polls are to be believed, the Democrats just might regain some control in government, that is, if the electronic voting machines aren't "broken" or if we can get past November 7 without a new "terror threat" or (a concern based more on reality) if you get out there and vote.
