also, mark shields called him on that "too honest" fatuousity last night on Lehrer, saying that he was giving the admin too much credit.

he said it was merely campaign season rhetoric, appealing to those who want red meat; those who want to see our unwilling non-coalitioners be humiliated, not allowed to share in the spoils of occupation

5. Brooks is starting to sound like Maureen Dowd
He's become an oh-so-smart Upper West Side twit on the right to match MoDo on the left. "Smarmy" also comes to mind.
