Simple idea behind new caucus: Know thy enemy
WASHINGTON – The House has scores of caucuses. Lawmakers of like mind gather to promote 4-H, the arts, biomedical research. There's the Steel Caucus, the Disability Caucus, even the U.S.-Mongolia Relations Caucus.

Last week, Rep. Kay Granger, R-Fort Worth, and three others unveiled the newest group. The bipartisan Anti-Terrorism Caucus launched with nearly one in five House members signed up. After all, who's for terror?

. . .

"What we're doing in this caucus," said Ms. Granger, "is saying we've got to understand everything we possibly can about this war – the big war, the war on terror – and the enemy. ... We serve on important committees – International Relations, Intelligence, Armed Services, Defense – and we read white papers, and we go to classified briefings, and we exchange books. But the more we know, I think, the more we know we don't know."

And there's so much to sort through. Even the label. "War on terror" isn't quite right, she said. A more definitive choice might be "the war against militant Islamic fundamentalists."

But "that's not as catchy."

Another catchier name for "the war against militant Islamic fundamentalists" is "Crusade". And appears we have one in five bi-partisan congressmen lining up for this Crusade.
