Shirley Smith: What To Do When the Thrill Is Gone? (In Iraq)
http://www.buzzflash.com/articles/smith/138

If people wouldn't believe it before, maybe now, they will see that criminals don't stop until they are stopped. It's never been more clear than today when criminals are not made accountable for their crimes, they don't stop. This Bush administration can't stop and won't stop until they are stopped. Daily, the death toll goes up in Iraq, higher than the day before, yet, Bush and his administration act as if nothing is happening over there, because of their lies and their decisions.

The acknowledgment comes amid shifting administration messages on Iran. After several weeks of saber rattling that included a stiff warning by President Bush and the dispatch of two aircraft carrier strike groups to the Persian Gulf, near Iran, the administration has insisted in recent days that it does not want to escalate tensions or to invade Iran.

It may sound too simplistic to always use the common street criminal as an example, but that's exactly who we have that was placed into this White House. Bank robbers who have been successful go at it again and again, and after a while begin to enjoy the "thrill" of their criminal activity more than the money gained. This is true of killers, too. First they just think about their crimes. It's all an escalation process if not stopped, and the violence becomes more violent.

I have to wonder if this Bush White House ever watches the killing that is still going on in Iraq today. (Return to the scene of the crime.) Does it even concern them at all or is it all in the past to them? Was there some kind of thrill, some kind of "high," involved in the planning and execution of those plans that started with a bombing of innocent citizens of Iraq called, in the Hollywood screen writing tradition, "shock and awe"? (How odd is it that Bush let bin Laden and his whole family go and went after Saddam and sons with such a show?)

It must have aroused the passion in those who are in the Bush administration because it all seemed orchestrated like a bad movie, written by amateurs. It was on all of the news around the world! What a rush! The heart-pounding exhilaration! The chills, the thrills! Bush could say, they listened to me! I'm the power of the people! I'm the decider! We did it!
