"...what do we call an executive who continues to bank fortunes on a losing marketing strategy...."
In poker, do we call a player a "defeatist" who, seeing a losing hand, folds rather than increasing the bet? No, we recognize that every good poker player knows better than to throw good money after bad.

In games of strategy such as chess and Go, what do we call a player who ignores the signs that a part of the board is escaping control and continues to invest in that lost territory? Soon enough, we will call that player the loser of the game.

In business, what do we call an executive who continues to bank fortunes on a losing marketing strategy rather than cut the losses? We call him a bad businessman.

1. What do we call such a businessman? He's called a guy with a
golden parachute, and a guy who gets other corporate jobs despite (or perhaps because of) his incompetence. Once you get to a certain level, it seems you can't be gotten rid of.

2. was going to say "unemployed" ....
Was going to say "unemployed" - but you're right. You call them "captains of industry" or whatever. * is the same as most of the country club, jet hopping, back slapping, rich idiots who are running this country into the ground.

3. Applying the corporate model to the MBA (p)Resident...
...we, the shareholders, should boot the CEO and his entire board to the curb. Unfortunately, we don't have a direct vote on the issue and most of our representatives--even the Democrats--are either tin-eared or complicit.
