Tim Hardaway, the retired basketball star who recently made blatantly anti-gay remarks, suddenly finds himself leading in the polls for the 2008 GOP Presidential nomination.

As Rush Limbaugh said on his radio show, “candidates like McCain, Giuliani and Romney are all suspect on the issue of gay rights. But Hardaway’s a guy who not only wants to ban gay marriage, but ban gays altogether.”

The Reverends Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell also endorsed Hardaway for President, claiming that this proves that they’re not prejudiced against African-Americans. “As long as a man knows what to do with his foreskin,” Falwell explained, “we’re not going to judge him by the color of his skin."

I can think of a few people who would like to ban fat, bald-headed, loud-mouthed, bigoted, right wing radio personalities as well.

The gays outnumber the fat right wingers, and there's safety in numbers, so Rush should perhaps keep a low profile or he might find himself without a job. Permanently.
