Pelosi is proving she’s up to the job
In her first month as House speaker, Nancy Pelosi is demonstrating the spine and skill that prove she is no female lummox of the left.

Sorry, GOP, she's not just another nothingburger Dennis Hastert in a skirt.

Based on her performance, she is much smarter than her undistinguished Republican predecessor, who was little more than a superficially amiable front-man for the narrow-minded right-wingers who really ran the party.

She is more collegial, focused on getting serious things done. And heaven knows, she has far more in the way of personality, energy and collegial instincts to keep her diverse caucus moving.

1. Pelosi has been a pleasant surprise for me.
Leading up the takeover, I wasn't sure about Pelosi, but she's been much better than I would have expected.

The one that is an endless disappointment is Harry Reid. How the hell did this milquetoast get the majority position in the Senate?

2. I have been very pleased with everything I've seen from Pelosi,
except for the "impeachment is off the table" comment, and the non-binding resolution, which I understand why it was done, but I feel the time could have been better spent.

Pelosi is intelligent, grounded, lives in the real world, and articulate. She is an asset to our government, and is so much better than her predecessor, there's really no comparing the two.

Harry Reid is a bit of a disappointment, I want him to start strong arming those SOB Repugs. Perhaps he has something up his sleeve, and is waiting for the right time to play his card. We'll see. But Harry needs to give 'em MORE hell than he has so far.

Pelosi is just about perfection in my book.
