Rep. says bill would create socialist system

By SARAH BERKSHIRE

U.S. Rep. Ron Lewis voted against a bill expanding the State Children’s Health Insurance Program because it would be a step toward complete government-supplied health care, he said.

“It’s not the State Children’s Health Insurance Program anymore. It’s the socialist children’s health insurance program,” he said, speaking from Washington, D.C. “This is a giant leap forward, if this bill were to stand, in moving this county to socialized medicine.”

--snip--

Area S-CHIP expansion supporters protested Monday outside Lewis’ Elizabethtown office. They held signs reading “Lewis votes against kids” and “Healthcare, not warfare” to encourage the congressman to support overriding the veto.

GRRRRRRRRR!

2. Why, like Libertarian professors at public universities who gladly get their benes from the "pool"
that they bemoan as the "public trough" ardent libertarian and laisser faire economical "types" will gladly take all they can from "the collective" as they call it, while likening it to theft. . .

Now who in the world expects Republicans to give up something that benefits them, even at the cost of being a hypocrit. . .

3. Done! Maybe we can use this against him in '08 here in Kentucky.
I'm afraid I was not very nice. I then called McConnell and was really not very nice and Pelosi and was sort of not very nice.
