World War III is Going To Be Hilarious - Bob Cesca
Your president giggled and grinned while discussing World War III today.

"But this -- we got a leader in Iran who has announced that he wants to destroy Israel. So I've told people that if you're interested in avoiding World War III , it seems like you ought to be interested in preventing them from have the knowledge necessary to make a nuclear weapon."

Hahahaha! Yeah! Zinger! That's funny shit.
<snip>

As near as I can tell, there doesn't appear to be a governing body or citizen group who can stop them from carrying this out. Congress won't and, honestly, they can't. Last night's Frontline episode, "Cheney's Law," underscored what we've all been worried about: Congress has been rendered ineffectual against the current power madness of the executive.

<snip>

Republican cowards who demand security at the expense of liberty/honor/law have facilitated the Bush executive branch with extraordinary power. Now we're trapped in the shadow of the White House's unprecedented strength, and there doesn't appear to be any conceivable way to stop these people. If Cheney wrangles the military hardware to attack Iran, the air strikes will commence with lightning zealotry. Bet on it. Congress can try to stop him, but they don't have the power any more. According to the Bush administration, Article II is Article II and the Commander in Chief rules.

1. He is straight from Animal House
you could just see him picking up his food and throwing it at the reporters

I'd have preferred John Belushi for president - samurai sword and all

at least he'd be saying "cheeseburger cheeseburger" instead of "terrist terrist"

2. Eisenhower
would have never giggled while speaking about mutually assured destruction.... Hell even Nixon would not have done that. Fucksakes even Reagan would not have done that. W. is a menace to the world and a disgrace to my country of birth.

I remember the Reagan 'joke' about how we start bombing the Russians in five minutes. See, thing was, he wasn't giggling as he said it. Guess he wasn't MAD!

6. Eisenhower
Eisenhower warned everyone about the "military-industrial complex" that had begun to emerge during his administration.

Bush and the Republican Party, and its blind support of Bush along with the equally blind support of some Democrats, are reflective of the very thing that Eisenhower warned everyone about. Unbridled power has simply eroded the very essence of our Constitution.

Eisenhower was the last of the real Republicans. Not sure about the last of the real Democrats. They appear to be on the endangered species list as well. Eisenhower's warning, along with Benjamin Franklin's prediction that the democracy would only last 200 years, leads me to believe that we no longer a democracy. Until the people put it back in place. The Republicans won't. So the Democrats have to. But that will require new leadership in the Democratic Party.

Instead of dumping tea in Boston Harbor, perhaps its time to start dumping politicians at the polls. Starting with Pelosi.

3. Why bother with calling him President?
King, Emperor, Supreme Ruler, Dictator all seem more appropriate.
