Their stores should be closed until they can prove they are good owners to do business in the US. We make them rich and we deserve better. The dead father would be shocked to see his children betraying their country for cheap slave labor.
States have corporations laws which they are not enforcing. Read the Wall Street Journal. page C1, Wednesday,November 14, 2007 article Why Wal-Mart Set Up Shop in Italy by Jessee Drucker.
"Wal-Mart set up shop in Italy to avoid paying Illinois millions of dollars in taxes every year. They control their unit of a real-estate subsidiary taht controls billions of dollars of retailer's property in Illinois and other states. Because technically it's only employees are based in Italy, the real-estate unit claims it's operations are foreign, exempt from Illinois corporate income tax."
Now is that not breaking the Corporate Responsibility Act?
You wonder why we can't pay for public transportation and hospitals in Illinois? They aren't paying their share of taxes for the ability to do business in the US. They use our highways, security and defense, educated employees, police, technology, etc. They owe the community where they do business.
The family makes billions but can't pay benefits, good wages, etc. They live here like kings on the backs of the foreign and American workers. This type of corporate governess has to stop.
