A Bush Quote To Ponder

In light of historical events, this particular gem takes on a new, more sinister meaning:

"It's exciting; I don't know whether I'm going to win or not. I think I am. I do know I'm ready for the job. And, if not, that's just the way it goes." George W.Bush


It's that "If not" phrase. Originally, we probably interpreted that to refer to winning.

Now, we realize he meant his readiness for the job!

1. The bush has a way of saying the truth by appearing to make a

a really bad joke. The comment about being a dictator, the comment about looking for WMDs.

I once worked for a man who use to walk a fine line between legal and illegal. He did the same thing. He and his assistant would make a joke about how they were skirting or breaking the law, or pulling one over on the client. Then when he met with a client, he would make the same joke. As if challenging clients to realize they were being cheated. Some clients would get spooked and never return but most just thought he was making a bad joke.

It's kind of spooky.

I quit working for him after only six months.

2. I guess for most people that would be considered a Freudian slip....

Coming from his "type", it's a challenge, like saying "catch me if you can."
