Regina Brett

Plain Dealer Columnist

...

The only difference between them is the obvious: She's a woman. He's a black man.

...

Then I stopped myself. If she were a man unwilling to give up the floor, a man pointing out the unfairness of questions, a man trying to take over the debate, she'd look pit-bull tough, not bitchy, whiny and defensive.

If Obama had been a woman, his laid-back, thoughtful, calm demeanor would have been labeled passive, wimpy and indecisive.

...

I am voting for a woman for president.

Join Regina Brett at 9 a.m. on WCPN FM/90.3, where she hosts "The Sound of Ideas" every Friday. Today's topic: Gender, race, age and the presidency.

2. I Am Joining You in Voting for Hillary.
I Am Joining You in Voting for Hillary.

And here's why:

I am voting for Hillary Clinton because she is completely forthcoming and has told the people of this country exactly what her plans and programs are, and how she will go about implementing, them in a direct and open fashion.

She has discussed her plans, ideas and opinions in speeches and debate, fielded questions about them and done an excellent job of defending them.

Look how very different Hillary is from a man who calls himself a blank slate, someone who with calculated coolness almost completely refuses to speak about his exactly ideas, opinions plans or programs, so he will never have to be called on to discuss, debate nor defend them.

BHO refers to himself as a blank slate onto which people will project what they want -- each believing he will be and do what they want despite their conflicting wishes -- and he exploits this ability to the fullest! This is not a candidate but a duplicitous representation of a candidate.

And of the few things about which he has voiced an opinion or plan, he has already changed those things to put him in a better light with one or another voter base in order to get himself elected or to ingratiate himself with the powers that are already at work in DC.

These changes include his position on protection of the Palestinians and their land in Gaza from Israeli abuses; whether or not to bomb Iran; if he will withdraw or send more troops into Iraq, and whether cutting Social Security and upping the retirement age are "on the table" of "off the table" which is his dodge for expressing the fact that he's not going to give a real answer to the question, so he can never be held accountable for it.

Those are the reasons I will not only vote FOR Hillary, but AGAINST Barack Obama.
