The War News, A Circus of Despair
The War News, A Circus of Despair
By David Glenn Cox

The children are always easily distracted by the clowns and the ponies in the circus train. The unfolding of the tent in the field draws the attention of one and all. The small, day-to-day cares fade into minor nuisances.

In the fields of fire there are no tents, no clowns, no ponies, only the entertainment of surviving another day. The thrill of breathing, the absence of wounds and the miracle of awakening, only to do it all over again.

As we count the days to the departure of Bush & Co, let us remember the stew, hard-made and long-simmering, that will be dished out cold and for a long, long time to come.

Israel withdraws its troops from Gaza after proving the futility of tanks over civilians. Fearing only the power of the news cycle, Israel withdraws from its Gaza Ghetto, before the verbal fire of the Pope, the President of the EU, and Secretary General of the UN, appears in the world press. Egyptian authorities permitted 250 injured Gazans to enter Egypt, adding to the 100 killed in six days and, on the seventh day, they rested. But the Gorgon can only be slayed by one of three ways: assimilation, accommodation or annihilation. Each dead spawns a 100 more to take their place, making the assault counter-productive, no more than a recruitment drive for Hamas.

Ecuador has mobilized troops and moved them to the Colombian border after Columbia bombed alleged FARC rebels crossing into Ecuador. Venezuela’s President, Hugo Chavez, has also mobilized troops and tanks in the border dispute. Columbia, the largest recipient of US military aid on the continent, has decided that it should direct its forces outside its borders since it is unable to eliminate the enemies inside its borders. They maintain, "Colombia has not violated any sovereignty, only acted in accordance with the principal of legitimate defense." The Bush doctrine, parroted with a Spanish accent.

In Oceania, great progress has been announced in the war on itself. The Kurd's, once the bastion of Oceania, support must now be mopped up by military operations for their illegal thought crimes of freedom. Sinan Ogan, head of the Turkish Center for International Relations and Strategic Analysis, said: "It is very clear that an established group like the PKK will not be eliminated with one or two more cross-border operations. Turkey needs to pinpoint operations against the group's leadership, like Israel's operations against Palestinian groups." Care should be taken sometimes, in the things that we say. Sometimes we say too much, sometimes too little and, sometimes, the things we say give it all away.

Big Brother has freshly returned from his trip to the disputed land where he offered freedom to the Proles under the gracious banner of AFRICOM. To free them from the cares of themselves and the slavery of freedom. He has ended the war on peace by targeting the Somalia town of Dholbe on the Kenyan border. Four thought criminals were eliminated; this is the third time Big Brother has sought to free them from impure thoughts. The creation of AFRICOM was offered by the kindness of Big Brother to end the scourge of peace on the continent. During Big Brother's visit he offered to make available all military assets to fight malaria and AIDS. The Africans in the disputed land declined his offers of peace and thereby guaranteed war.

In Afghanistan, Big Brother's kindness is extended through cluster bombs, cell phones, oil pipelines, and the lucrative poppy fields. In Pakistan, Big Brother aids in the national suicide, for, if that eye offend you, better that you pluck it out. If that population offend you, it’s better then to take them out. Sri Lankan forces pushed deeper into Tamil Tiger territory in three days of fighting that has left at least 83 guerrillas and nine government soldiers dead, the Ministry of Truth said Tuesday.

Big Brother has moved the guided-missile destroyer, USS Cole, and other ships to the eastern Mediterranean, off Lebanon, Pentagon officials said Thursday. The deployment comes amid a political standoff over Lebanon's presidency but the Ministry of Truth would not say whether the events are linked. "It's a group of ships that will operate in the vicinity for a while and as the ships in our Navy do, their presence is important. It isn't meant to send any stronger signal than that," he said. "But it does signal that we're engaged and we are going to be in the vicinity, and that's a very important part of the world." That even though this is absolutely no concern of ours, Big Brother is always ready to intervene to prevent the outbreak of impure thoughts.

The destroyer and two support ships are close to Lebanon but out of visual range of the coast, Pentagon officials said. Another six vessels, led by the amphibious assault ship, USS Nassau, are close to Italy and steaming toward the other three, the officials said. The Ministry would not say whether the deployment has anything to do with the upcoming Lebanese parliamentary vote on a new president, which was postponed for a 15th time earlier this week. But said the vote was "important," and Big Brother was waiting for it to take place. And Big Brother's decision to move ships to the region was a message to neighboring East Asia that Big Brother is concerned about the situation in his territories and wants to see the situation resolved.

"We are sending a clear message for the need for stability," said the official, who was not authorized to speak for publication. Yet did so anyway, meaning an employee for the Ministry for Unofficial Truth. The ships "should be there a while," the official added. By our aggression they will see that we seek peace!

Condoleezza Rice, Big Brother's Secretary of State, has called on Palestinians to quickly resume peace talks with Israel. Rice made her remarks after landing in Egypt on Tuesday at the beginning of two days of shuttle diplomacy in the Middle East. "Negotiations ought to resume as soon as possible," Rice said. "I am going to have discussions with the parties about how we try to keep this process going, given that obviously there are going to be spoilers."
